Obviously we are seriously into Candles; and not just any Candles, we have a love affair with Natural Candles, made of natural waxes like soy-wax or bees-wax.
Why? Well, natural waxes derive from natural materials, which makes them A. much healthier to burn than the average Paraffin Wax Candle (Paraffin is a material that essentially releases petroleum based fumes into your house) and B. these waxes are bio-degradable and we all want to help keep a small ecological food-print (read about other ways to do that at Reset.org).
Now, in the spirit of reducing our ecological footprint AND having fun with it, let's take a look at the Top 3 Ways To Re-purpose your Candle Jars.
Before you start re-purposing, make sure to clean the candle jars. Yes, that sounds like a chore, but don't worry. Due to the bio-degradable nature of soy wax, all you have to do is pour boiling water into the jars, wait for a couple minutes, discard the water and clean the jar with a sponge - easy, peasy..:-)
1. Turn Your Jars Into Flower Pots
This is our favorite option and it works particularly well with Cactus plants or Succulents. Simply add a bit of soil, set the plant atop and water...voila. Looks great in the kitchen, living room, bedside table, coffee or dinner table.
2. Turn your Candle Jars into A Portable Tea Container
How nice is that!? Want to bring some tea bags to the office? No problem, simply use the empty candle jar, add your favorite tea bags and place on your desk. Best part is, the dark amber jar glass will protect your tea from day light.
3. Turn Your Jars Into Your Beauty Supply Containers
I love this idea because it helps me to keep positives vibes in my bathroom....and you can never have enough positivity (or organization).
