Our Story 2024

We believe candles can do something special. The right scent and the soft flicker of light can shift the entire energy of a space in an instant.

That idea stuck with me after a trip to Sequoia National Park in 2005. The feeling I had there, calm, grounded, alive, I wanted to find a way to bring that home.

Years later, when my wife was pregnant and we were preparing for our first child, I tried making candles using essential oils and natural wax. It did not go well. Our kitchen was a mess, the scent took over the whole house, and the candles barely burned. I declared, I’d never make another candle in my life!

A few years (and a career change) later, I found myself thinking about candles again. I’d just left a corporate role (you know what I mean) and wanted to build something more personal. Something we could be proud of. So we started Candlefy, with one goal: let’s build a candle brand that’s actually good. Like Yankee Candle, but modern, clean, and better quality.

At first, we worked with a manufacturer. Then COVID hit and our partner disappeared. I cleared out the garage and started pouring candles by hand. My wife helped. Our neighbors joined in. And from there, we kept growing.

Today, every Candlefy candle is still hand-poured in the U.S. with care, using clean ingredients and scents designed to create a mood, a memory, a moment.
