Hey Sarah, tell us about your work!
I’m a cartoonist and illustrator who loves to write about the oddities of life.
How did you get started?
I started in 2011 when I was studying illustration in art school. I had been drawing comics for years as a way to write about my feelings and experiences, but it was around that time that I started posting them online and organizing my ideas. The public reaction to my comics made me feel like it was something I was maybe good at, and I continued from there.
Where do you find inspiration?
I enjoy analyzing the more awkward moments in life and trying to present them in such a way that it becomes okay to laugh about them. I also love writing about relationships between people and those that they love, whether that be friends, pets, or romantic partners.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t be so hard on yourself. And stretch!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
People always wonder if the pets in my comic are real, and I do actually have a black cat, her name is Harley and she’s the best cat in the world. Sorry to all the other cats out there.
